Even though Canada legalized cannabis in 2018, ad rules and regulations remain pretty strict and can be a bit difficult to comprehend for those new to the industry.

Here’s a quick, top-level breakdown of compliance when it comes to advertising cannabis in Canada, and how you can make sure to always stay above board.

The main thing to remember is that yes, cannabis is legal, which means that it’s regulated and can’t be served to anyone under the age of 19 (or 18 in some provinces), which means that advertising can’t target anyone under those ages either.
